Jakarta, 20 June 2026 – As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and climate action, Eramet Indonesia organized a mangrove planting activity on 20 June 2026 at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with LindungiHutan, an Indonesian environmental organization that supports forest and mangrove restoration through community-based tree planting and brought employees together to help restore coastal ecosystems.
“This activity reflects our commitment to the Act for Positive Mining. It was also a refreshing chance for us to step outside, do something together, and make it meaningful,” said Jerome, CEO of Eramet Indonesia, at the event.
Mangroves play a vital role in protecting coastlines from erosion, supporting biodiversity, and helping communities adapt to the impacts of climate change. Through this activity, participants had the opportunity to contribute to ecosystem restoration efforts while gaining firsthand insight into the importance of healthy coastal ecosystems.
The mangrove planting served as the closing chapter of Eramet Indonesia’s World Environment Day 2026 initiatives, which aimed to strengthen environmental awareness and encourage collective action in support of sustainability. The series began on 11 March with the Bio-Art Competition, part of Eramet Environmental Week, which invited children from Eramet Indonesia families to explore biodiversity through art. It continued on 5 June with a World Environment Day gathering, where an external speaker and the interactive game “Wild Mosaic” helped participants explore the connections between climate, ecosystem services, and biodiversity.
Through initiatives like this, Eramet Indonesia continues to put its Act for Positive Mining commitment into practice by supporting environmental initiatives beyond its operational footprint and contributing to broader ecosystem conservation efforts.
