Jakarta, 1 July, 2026 – Eramet Indonesia, a global mining and metallurgy company from France, together with Kitong Bisa Foundation (KBF), officially concluded the inaugural cohort of the Eramet Beyond Scholarship Program through a closing ceremony themed “Eramet Beyond: From Journey to Impact.”

Launched in November 2024, the program reflects Eramet Indonesia’s commitment to expanding access to quality education for young people from Eastern Indonesia, while equipping them with leadership capabilities, future-ready skills, and a strong commitment to creating positive impact in their communities.

CEO of Eramet Indonesia, Jérôme Baudelet, emphasized that investing in education is a long-term investment that generates lasting benefits for society. He believes education serves as the foundation for inclusive and sustainable development.

“Through the Eramet Beyond Scholarship Program, we aim to create greater opportunities for talented young people to unlock their potential, strengthen their leadership capacities, and drive positive change in their communities. We hope their journey through this program marks the beginning of even greater contributions to the development of their regions and Indonesia as a whole,” said Jérôme during the program’s closing ceremony in Jakarta on Tuesday, (30/6).
The inaugural Eramet Beyond Scholarship Program brought together 41 university students from Maluku, Sulawesi, and Papua, selected from more than 500 applicants nationwide. Throughout the program, scholarship recipients participated in 46 development sessions covering English proficiency, project management, leadership, financial literacy, and digital literacy.
The learning journey was structured around four key stages—Learn, Lead, Serve, and Give Back—designed to encourage participants to continuously develop themselves while contributing meaningfully to their surrounding communities.

The program delivered several notable outcomes, including:

  • 70% of participants improved their English proficiency by at least one level.
  • 73.2% demonstrated enhanced knowledge and skills in project management.
  • 73% gained a stronger understanding of the importance of emergency funds after completing the financial literacy sessions.
  • Participants’ average GPA increased from 3.50 to 3.63, representing an improvement of approximately 3.75% from the fifth to the seventh semester.
  • 19 out of 41 students (approximately 45%) actively contributed to organizations, communities, and various social initiatives throughout 2026.

Beyond these achievements, the program has also had a tangible impact on the lives of its recipients. One such beneficiary is Zaldi, who previously had to work part-time to finance his university studies. Through the Eramet Beyond Scholarship Program, he has been able to focus more fully on his academic development, including securing full funding for his final research project conducted in collaboration with Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

“I am deeply grateful to Eramet and KBF. Thanks to the support provided through the Eramet Beyond Scholarship Program, I have been able to focus on my studies without worrying about financial constraints. This experience has also opened up many new opportunities for me to grow and develop further,” said Zaldi.
Kitong Bisa Foundation CEO, Mohammad Afif, noted that the success of the program should not be measured solely by the academic achievements of its scholarship recipients, but also by the positive impact they create within society.
“Through Eramet Beyond, we not only support students in completing their education, but also equip them with leadership character, a spirit of service, and the ability to create meaningful impact. We believe these scholars will become part of a generation that drives positive change across Eastern Indonesia and the nation as a whole,” Afif said.
Eramet Indonesia and KBF reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing a new generation of competitive and empowered young leaders who can serve as agents of change and inspire more Indonesian youth to contribute positively to their communities.
